POLAND – Chrystel H. Buck, 91, of Poland died Saturday, Nov. 1, at her home.
She was born in North Reading, Mass., on May 3, 1917, the daughter of Ausborne H. and Evelyn F. Libby Chisholm. She attended Gould Academy and had worked as a waitress at such places as Poland Spring House, Mansion House, Highland Park Club in Lake Wales, Fla., and Hanover Inn in Hanover, N.H.
She was the Boston Post Cane holder for the oldest citizen of Poland. She loved her family and attending Grange. Poland Community Church was an important part of her life. She was a quiet, unassuming lady, always caring for others. She married Harry Buck on May 18, 1947. He died Jan. 29, 1999.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan Wingate and Janice Buck-Faulkner; two sons, Bruce Buck and his wife, Patty, and Gregory Buck and his wife, Jean; a brother, Richard Chisholm; four grandchildren, Chelsea Buck, Alex Buck, Emily and Miles Buck; and many loved nieces and nephews, especially three nieces who were involved in her care, Jackie Lemm, Pamela Caldwell and Betsy Chisholm.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Nellie Karpowich and Barbara Carle; and a nephew, Peter Karpowich.
