SABATTUS – Scott Lansley won his bid for a seat on the Board of Selectmen by a vote of 1,285-1,212, according to Town Clerk Suzanne Adams. Donald Laliberty had run against him for the three-year term.
It was the only contested local race on the ballot and the close vote kept town officials at the clerks office until 4 a.m.
Jeffrey Baril won a one-year term on the Board of Selectmen.
Voters picked four directors for the new Regional School Unit No. 4 board, overseeing newly consolidated Wales, Litchfield and Sabattus: Robert Gayton Jr., Patrick Madden, Gregoire Provost and Philip Webber Sr. Term lengths will be decided after the election. That board will convene in early December to start on next year’s school budget and hiring a superintendent.
Gayton, Madden and Webber also won seats on the existing school board that’s set to disband in June.
Richard Behr and Walter Wood won three-year terms as Sanitary Water District trustees. Wood had been running for re-election.
