FARMINGTON – Voters in the two towns – Industry and Farmington – that comprise House District 89 reelected Janet Mills, D-Farmington, to a third term on Tuesday.
Mills drew 3,127 votes to 1,592 for her opponent, University of Maine at Farmington student Keith Mahoney, a Republican from Farmington.
“I’m delighted to win and to win by such a healthy margin, two to one in both towns,” Mills said Wednesday. “I do my best to serve the people of this district and to represent their interests.”
She believes her six years of experience helps her work with other legislators and committees to get things done in Augusta.
Mills would like to continue her work on the Appropriations Committee.
“Appropriations are the key that touches everything,” she added.
