• Vehicles driven by Gilman Lamarre, 66, and Chad John Merchant, 20, both of Auburn, collided at 3:30 p.m. Monday on Third Street. According to a police report, Lamarre was reaching for his dog when he lost control of his vehicle and struck Merchant’s car head-on. Damage to Lamarre’s 2002 Ford was estimated at $3,000; to Merchant’s 1997 Volkswagen, $4,500.
