LISBON FALLS – Darrell L. Thrasher, 52, of 64 Main St., Lisbon Falls, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, Nov. 4, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.

He was born in Waterville, on June 2, 1956, a son to Alphonso (Stanley) and Joyce (Henderson) Thrasher. He was educated in Waterville and graduated from Lawrence High School, Class of 1974.

He has been working for BIW for the past 30 years, currently as a supervisor at EBMF, in Brunswick. He married the true love of his life, the former Lisa Keough on Nov. 20, 1993. Together they created a wonderfully blended family and raised five successful children, of whom he was very proud.

Something else he took great pride in was being a friend of Bill W. He celebrated 17 years of sobriety this month. He enjoyed music, singing and motorcycles, especially his Harley-Davidson, but most of all he enjoyed his family and spending as much time with them as possible. He was a huge fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.

He will be missed for his sense of humor and his ability to make you smile no matter how bad the situation. If you had the chance to meet him it did not take you long to find out he was a good man and how much he loved to gab. He loved his Doberman pinschers, especially Angus, who passed a couple years ago. He made the mistake of telling Lisa she could have as many Dobermans as she wanted and five dogs later he often joked about how much he regretted that statement!

He leaves his love of his life, Lisa of Lisbon Falls; his mother, Joyce of Randolph; four sons, Chief Petty Officer Joseph LaCouture and his wife, Samantha, of Quaker Ridge, Conn., Private First Class Ryan Thrasher of San Antonio, Texas, Thomas Thrasher of Lisbon Falls and Riley Thrasher of Lisbon Falls; a daughter, Maggie Gellatly and her significant other, Bryon Moss of Auburn; a sister, Robin Crocker and her husband, John, of Randolph; and two brothers, Glenn Thrasher and his wife, Julianna, of Canaan and Russell (Rusty) Thrasher of Clinton.

He was predeceased by an infant son, Timothy James Thrasher; his father, Stanley; and a sister, Roberta Henderson.
