SOUTH PARIS – William S. “Sonny” or “Doc” Haskell Jr., 77, of Oxford died Friday, Nov. 7, at Market Square Health Care Center.
He was born in Winthrop, on Nov. 12, 1930, the son of William S. Haskell Sr. and Gladys Thurlow Haskell. He graduated from Edward Little High School and a trade school before working as a self-employed carpenter. He then worked at Oxford Homes until his retirement.
He enjoying fishing, watching his grandkids play sports, hunting, camping and boating. He was an outdoorsman, a social butterfly who loved people and having company. He was an avid Red Sox fan. He married June V. Carro. She died March 27, 2004.
He is survived by his daughter, Lori Teti and her husband, Scott, of West Valley City, Utah; his son, William of Oxford; two sisters, Marlene Perry of Norway and Inete Conant of Mechanic Falls; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Cindy Lou Haskell, on July 22, 1961; and two sisters, Pip Harlow and Todie Dunn.
