RUMFORD – Rosanna M. Cogley, 84, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, at her residence at the Rumford Community Home.

She was born in Roxbury, on Feb. 5, 1924, a daughter of Clement and Ruth (Ladner) Cogley. She graduated from Mexico High School, Class of 1943, and from Farmington State Teachers’ College, Class of 1947 with her bachelor of science degree in home economics and taught high school in Rangeley and Wiscasset for several years and later in the elementary schools in Rumford for more than 27 years until retirement.

She was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior (St. Athanasius-St. John Church); member of the Maine and National Teachers’ Associations; member Northern Oxford County Division of the American Cancer Society; member Dixfield Women’s Extension and the Christian Valley Literary Club.

Survivors include four nephews, David Cogley and wife, Kitty, of Gardiner, John Cogley of Roxbury, James Cogley and companion, Theda, of China and Paul Cogley and wife, Stormy, of Roxbury; and several great-nieces and nephews.
