The St. Dominic RHS Drama Society will be performing the Broadway hit musical “Godspell” for the second time! The show is based on the Gospel of St. Matthew and tells the story of Jesus Christ’s life, death, and resurrection. Twelve of the school’s drama society members have been rehearsing incessantly to put on a spectacular program.

“Godspell” was first performed at St. Dom’s six years ago, before any of the current cast members were students. The show, directed by Mr. Noel Thibodeau, was a huge success. This revival performance, however, has some very exciting improvements.

The show will be performed at the Franco-American Heritage Center in Lewiston, the first time that a St. Dom’s production is not performed at the school. The beautiful theater, professional light and sound systems, and great acoustics are sure to enhance the musical performance.

The show is directed by Mr. Thibodeau again with the help of Ms. Jocelyn French. Monica Michaud, a St. Dom’s graduate, is choreographing. The role of Jesus will be played by junior John Winter and John the Baptist/Judas will be played by junior Delton Hulbert. The show also features many soloists and a band composed of current St. Dom’s students.

“Godspell” will run Friday November 28th at 7:00 p.m., Saturday November 29th at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday November 30th at 2:00 p.m. All performances are at the Franco American Heritage Center on Cedar Street in Lewiston. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. For more information, contact the school at 782-6911 ex 3222 or e-mail noel.thibodeau@portlanddiocese.org.
