HALLOWELL – As a fundraiser for Maine Association of Community Theaters and as a warm-up for their representation for the AACT Regional Festival in Merrimac, N.H., The Open Book Players will be presenting “Worlds Afire,” written by Maine author and poet, Paul B. Janeczko, on Nov. 14, at 8 p.m. at Hallowell City Hall.

The Maine Association of Community Theaters (MeACT) is a statewide organization that fosters communication among community theater groups in Maine. MeACT also produces an annual One-Act Festival in Maine. MeACT is the organization responsible for selecting a representative to compete at the New England Regional Festival One Act play festival. The Regional One Act festival is produced by the American Association of Community Theaters (AACT), a national theater organization.

Tickets are $10 general admission, and $8 for seniors and students. Curtain is at 8 p.m., and the box office opens at 7 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling 621-2905.
