JAY – The condition of a Jay man injured in a skidder accident Monday has been upgraded from critical to serious.

Wayne “Spike” Whitehouse, 46, of Jay suffered severe head injuries after the skidder he was operating rolled down a steep, wooded, rocky hill Monday morning on his property off Route 140 in Jay, police said. He was thrown from it.

Whitehouse was listed in critical condition Monday and Tuesday at Central Maine Medical Center. A hospital spokesperson said he was listed in serious condition Wednesday.
