Lodge to meet
AUBURN – Liberty Rebekah Lodge 94 will meet at 6:45 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, in the recreation room at the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Home, 85 Caron Lane. The meeting will open at 7.
Roll call by Secretary Cathy Hunnewell and renewing the obligation, led by Vice Grand Diane Treacy, will take place. At the request of Noble Grand Pam Black, each member will be asked to contribute to the program with a reading, song, poem, or joke using the theme of Thanksgiving if possible.
For a community service project all are asked to join in the Coats for Kids program and bring in good coats and/or Toys for Kids.
AARP speaker
LEWISTON – The Androscoggin Chapter, AARP, will meet at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, in the Multi-Purpose Center, Birch Street.
The speaker will be Yvette Bates from H and R Block. Bates is a graduate of the University of Maine with a bachelor’s degree and has been employed by H and R Block for 10 years.
There will be refreshments following the meeting. The board members will meet at 12:45 prior to the general meeting.
New project
NEW GLOUCESTER – The New Gloucester Historical Society will launch a new history book project at its meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at the New Gloucester Meetinghouse, Route 231.
All members and the public are welcome to bring their photos of New Gloucester to the meeting for possible inclusion in the picture book, which will be published in 2009, the 75th anniversary of the society’s founding.
Help is also being sought in naming people and places that are seen in the society’s photo archives. Refreshments will be served, with a business meeting to follow.
Bridge winners
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Nov. 10 were: first, Marta Clements and Della Starbird; second, Dick Allen and Pete Cummings; third, Anna Vitiello and Rosemarie Goodwin; fourth, Jan Arey and Linda Leotsakos; second/third tie in B, Ellie and George Wigton with Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe.
Winners at Schooner Estates in Auburn on Nov. 12 were: first, Paul Barber and Luke Merry; second and third tie, Martine Begert and Patricia Garcia with Tom Dahlberg and David Wallace; fourth, Mary Leahey and Claire Lyons.
Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays and 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Schooner Estates in Auburn. A partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie at 754-1431 for information about all duplicate bridge games.
