LIVERMORE FALLS – A Wilton man was charged with driving to endanger Thursday after being accused of leading police on a high-speed chase through four towns Wednesday night.
Jason Madore, 23, of 840 Main St. remained at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn on Thursday on additional charges of eluding an officer, operating while license suspended, operating under the influence with one prior conviction, operating a vehicle 30 miles over the speed limit or criminal speeding, and violating conditions of release, officials said.
The Toyota car he was driving belonged to the passenger, Jason Williamson, of Lewiston.
Livermore Falls Police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said Madore was clocked going up to 110 mph as the car traveled through Livermore Falls, Wayne, Winthrop and Monmouth before being stopped with spike mats. From start to finish the pursuit lasted 12 minutes, he said.
