AUBURN – A new Lions Club is being formed in the area and residents are invited to become charter members.

The invitation is extended to everyone (business owners, community leaders, individuals, families and retirees) who have a desire to make life a little better for those less fortunate.

The first informational and organizational meeting will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Gipper’s Sports Grill, 120 Center St.

Lions Clubs are made up of men and women dedicated to meeting the needs of their community. As a member, residents will help determine the types of services the club will provide. Being a member of the new club will provide residents an opportunity to meet new friends, network and help those in need and give something back to the community.

Lions Clubs International has 1.3 million members in 203 countries. The association is recognized for service to the blind and visually impaired. In addition, members place special emphasis service that will insure the community will be a better place in which to live.
