On the Maine scene, there are questions for Maine’s Democrat-controlled state government.

Why should the secret ballot be eliminated in a vote by employees to form a union?

Why is Maine 48th in being business-friendly? Have Democrats forgotten there can’t be employees without employers?

Why is the failed and expensive Dirigo Health insurance program being continued?

Why are residents taxed so highly, considering the low average income?

Why won’t Democrats change the health insurance laws to make health insurance less costly, as it is in other states?

The Sun Journal should have a full-time reporter in Augusta reporting these issues and others. The local legislators’ votes should be printed. Why won’t the Sun Journal do that? Such factual information should not offend anyone as long as it is presented accurately.

What happens in the state government affects all residents. It should be a primary mission of the daily newspaper to keep people fully informed, and the Sun Journal has the capability of doing that, but is it willing?

On the national scene, the media wanted Sen. Barack Hussein Obama to be elected president. They did not pin Obama with the tough questions; they gave Sen. Joe Biden a pass on his gaffes; and presented negative stories about the Republicans. Unbiased journalism was becoming a joke.

Was the vote for Obama symbolic or substantive? It probably was some of both. But if the symbolic votes were removed, would his substantive content alone have won?

Think about it.
