LEWISTON – A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Arthur Gendron was held Saturday afternoon at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul following prayers at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home. Monsignor Marc Caron celebrated the Mass and was assisted by Brother Irenee Richard, OP.

Arthur’s children draped their father’s casket with a burial pall at the beginning of Mass, and his daughter, Monique Gendron, placed their mother’s crucifix on Arthur’s casket for the funeral Mass. The readers were grandchildren, Laurie Bell, Celeste Mathieu and Susan Walsh. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Arthur’s great-grandchildren, Melissa and Brian Mathieu, as well as Bianca Langelier.

The Gendron Dairy Milk delivery van, driven by Arthur’s grandson, Donald Langelier and Marc Desrosier, served as Arthur’s flower vehicle to the church and cemetery as part of the funeral procession in honor of their grandfather.

At the cemetery, Monsignor Caron and Brother Richard, OP, both recited committal prayers. At the conclusion of services all in attendance were invited to a reception of fellowship at Marco’s Restaurant in Lewiston.

Honorary pall bearers were grandchildren, Celeste Mathieu and Susan Walsh. The active pallbearers were Christine Lagueux, Andrea Kribs, Laurie Bell, Nicole Morouse, Donald Langlier, Thomas Labonte, Gregory Landry and Marc Desrosiers. Arrangements by Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home, Lewiston.
