WEST PARIS – June E. Plante, 92, formerly of Prospect Avenue, Rumford, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at Ledgeview Living Center following a long illness.

She was born in Mexico, a daughter of Antonio and Melvina (Dennis) Simon.

June was educated in Mexico schools and was a graduate of Mexico High School.

She was employed for several years as a nurse’s aide at Rumford Hospital.

June was an avid reader and loved to crochet, and pick blueberries and mushrooms.

She is survived by three children, a son, Joseph S. Plante and fiancée Donna Pleau of Rumford; two daughters, Bernadette Plante of St. Augustine, Fla., and Mary Berguin of United Arab Emerites; a sister, Mary Davis of Rumford; seven grandchildren, Christopher Plante, Shawn Plante, Sonja Deardon, Lauren Rumnit, Stephen Berguin, Allison Berguin and Devin Merrow; and a great-granddaughter, Kendal Deardon.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Leon R. Plante; a daughter, Erlene Wiken; and two sisters, Wanda Ann Richards and Stella Zlabis.
