The National Education Association tagline, “Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility” represents the vision of communities in our nation.
American Education Week, Nov. 16-22, is a time for citizens to join together in recognizing the importance of education and the dedicated people who provide the opportunities for our youth to acquire the skills needed to function in the 21st century. Each day of American Education Week celebrates a valuable member of the community that supports children in their quest to receive the education necessary to be a contributing member of society and a life-long learner.
Educators know parent support is critical for the overall success of a child and are grateful for your involvement in this partnership to recognize your child’s talents and strive to challenge them to seek their potential. Community members involve schools in cultural programs which broaden the opportunities for children to connect with talented artisans and extend education beyond the schoolhouse doors.
We are fortunate to live in a nation that believes education is one of the keys to the strength of a society. Show your support of the educational community with a note, e-mail message or phone call to an individual(s) who has committed him/herself to one of the basic rights our nation is founded upon: the right to a free and appropriate education for all students.
