I feel fortunate to live in a community of cultural excellence. It does not matter what side of the river I go for uplifting, outstanding performances, it becomes a pleasurable moment in time spent.

I attended a recent performance at The Public Theatre. I laughed and was piqued by the sometimes sobering message, but I came away satisfied that my evening was spent at the theater.

On the same weekend, my sister and husband attended an event at the Franco-American Heritage Center. Their comments were glowing about the building and the music within.

The Community Little Theatre has my attention for outstanding musicals. And now I can go to restaurants to hear local and not-so-local musicians performing.

What a change has occurred since moving into the neighborhood. Cultural opportunities are, indeed, important in a healthy community. My kudos to all who are making this possible for me and many others who are hungry to feed our souls with artistic opportunities.
