LEWISTON – A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Raymond P. Pinette was held Monday at Holy Cross Church after prayers at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home. Monsignor Marc Caron celebrated the Mass and recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Before Mass, Ray’s grandchildren, Lindsey Le Master, Vanessa Baram, Stephanie Pelkey, Derik Ouellette, Aaron Pinette and Shawn Pinette draped their grandfather’s casket with the white burial pall signifying Ray’s baptism into a new life with God. During Mass readers were grandchildren, Derik Ouellette, Aaron Pinette and Vanessa Baram. The offertory was brought to the altar by Ray’s children, Ann Jagger, Paul Pinette, Laurie Ouellette and Maureen Aube while Jacqueline Dyer sang “Amazing Grace.” After committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery, the U.S. Army Honor Detail played “taps” and folded our country’s flag which was then presented to Operations Specialist Chief, Patrick Therrien of the U.S. Navy a close family friend of the Pinette family who then in turn presented the U.S. flag to Ray’s wife, Claire, in honor of her husband’s service to his country during the Cold War. Pallbearers were Aaron Pinette, Derik Ouellette, Randy Pelkey, Kyle Baram, James Dyer and Shawn Pinette. At the conclusion of services, all in attendence were invited to a reception of fellowship at Marco’s Restaurant in Lewiston. Arrangements by Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home.
