WEST PARIS – Abner Loren (Pride) Allen, 69, of Norway passed away Nov. 17, at Ledgeview Living Center.

He was born in Norway, Nov. 26, 1938. He attended school in Norway and served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1962. He was employed as a pipefitter for many years for Fluor Corp. of Greenville, N.C., traveling and working all over the USA.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved nature, fishing and hunting. He truly loved his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his four children, Cathy Allen of New Boston, N.H., Eileen Tarbox of Danvers, Mass., Abner Allen II of North Berwick and Mary Ellen Groves of Bradford, Mass.; nine grandchildren, Sarah, Missy and Beth Steinhoff, Tessa, Amber, Tawni and Beau Allen, Jake Chery and Leandra Torres; his sister, Joan Tucker of Hanover; his brother, Ira Allen and his wife, Judi Martin, of Smyrna, Tenn.; his sister, Nancy Jordan and her husband, Larry, of Turner; his stepmother, Ruth Pride; brothers, Eugene Pride of Ridge Manor, Fla., and William Pride of Limerick; sisters, Gloria Dorey of Rumford, Karen Goodwin of Oxford, Trudy Durgin of Norway, Rhonda Tibbets of Norway and Ruth Upton of Norway; and a special cousin, Sandra Brown of South Paris.

He was predeceased by his mother, Eva Allen; his father, Eugene Pride; his stepfather, Melvin Allen; and his brother-in-law, Allison Tucker.

His family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Ledgeview Living Center for their care and support during this difficult time and a special thank-you to his traveling friend, Debbie.
