LEWISTON – Lucienne (Lou) R. Beaulieu, 87, formerly of The Chapman House, Auburn, passed away on Monday, Nov. 17, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. She joins her beloved husband of 61 years, Leo J. Beaulieu, who predeceased her Jan. 4, 2002.
She was born in Lewiston, March 27, 1921, the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Finley Levasseur. Lou was educated in Lewiston schools including Acme Business College and married Leo on Aug. 31, 1940.
In their retirement years, they enjoyed walking together at Old Orchard Beach and along Baxter Boulevard and this became a New Year’s Eve tradition for them. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Raytheon for many years and later worked parttime at both St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and Central Maine Medical Center as a patient escort.
She was a member of Holy Family Church. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She will also be remembered for the many times she said novenas on behalf of her different grandchildren to bring them some divine help with a variety of life events.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane Levesque and her fiancé, Peter Blair, of Manchester, Conn., and Rachel Cote and her husband, Raymond, of Lewiston; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sister, Alice Dubois and her brother, Edward Levasseur.
