Republican incumbent Michael Vaughan of Durham on Monday withdrew his request for a recount in the race for state representative from District 105.
The district is made up of Durham, New Gloucester and part of Lisbon.
Democratic challenger David Van Wie of New Gloucester defeated Vaughan by 85 votes, 2,797 to 2,712, according to unofficial results.
On Wednesday, the Secretary of State’s office is scheduled to conduct a recount of the race for the Oxford County Commission District 1 seat. The recount was requested by Democratic candidate Charleen Chase of Bethel, who trails Republican Steven Merrill of Norway by 25 votes, according to unofficial results. Merrill received 5,376 votes to Chase’s 5,351.
A recount for the Oxford County Register of Probate race is scheduled for Thursday. The recount was requested by Republican incumbent Tom Winsor of Norway. Democrat Bruce Rood of Waterford leads Winsor by 352 votes, 15,130 to 14,778, according to unofficial results.
