I would like President-elect Barack Obama to know my concerns.

I did not vote for him, but he is the president-elect.

While all of the “bailout” packages are being discussed, I hope he doesn’t forget Social Security. It seems taxpayers can bail out Wall Street, the banks, and perhaps the auto industry, but nary a word is spoken about Social Security. Fortunately President George W. Bush did not get his way with privatization.

It seems the lessons of history and the difficulty of the depression are forgotten.

I wish Obama well and pledge my support. And I ask him to please shore up Social Security and work toward a universal health care system.
