LEWISTON – Elizabeth M. Ames, 76, of Poland, passed away Friday, Nov. 21, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Poland on May 2, 1932, the daughter of Albert and Gertrude Aldrich Tirrell. She graduated from high school in Poland. She had been employed at Etonic Footwear and later at Tripp Lake camp as a housekeeper.

She resided in Poland and had lived with her son and daughter-in-law, David and Lynn Ames, for the past 20 years. She enjoyed reading, knitting, going to the movies and spending time with her family. She loved watching car races.

She is survived by four children, David and his wife, Lynn, of Poland, Steven and his wife, Cindy, of East Poland, Scott and his wife, Patty, of Minot, and Susan O’Brien and her husband, Tim, of Gray; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Albert Tirrell Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ervin Ames, in 1975; a son, Danny, in 1993; and a sister, Mildred.
