LEWISTON – Gloria A. Damon, 73, of Poland, passed away Wednesday evening, Nov. 19, at Central Maine Medical Center with family at her side.

She was born in Lewiston Jan. 25, 1935, a daughter of Kenneth and Zetta Johnson of Auburn. She attended Auburn schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community. Gloria retired from Seltzer & Rydholm in 1991 and was a part-time resident of Inverness, Fla.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth E. Damon Sr. of Poland; two sons Kenneth E. Damon Jr. and wife, Carla, of Summerville, S.C., and Mark A. Damon Sr. of Minot; a daughter, Laurie Paradise of South Paris; eight grandchildren, Shawn Damon and wife, Shannon, Michelle Cook and husband, Tony, and Heather Smith, all of Summerville, S.C., Gerry Paradise and wife, Jennifer, of New Gloucester, Richard Paradise and wife, Jennifer Erwin Paradise, and Tracy Paradise of Auburn, Mark Damon Jr. and wife, Diana, and Sabrina Damon, all of Charleston, S.C.; eight great-grandchildren, Fischer and Grace Cook, Hayden Smith, Devynn Marcus, Kalie, Laney, Mischa Paradise and Noah Damon; two sisters, Nancy O’Conner of Turner and Patricia Castner and husband, Larry, of Auburn; a brother, Bruce Johnson and wife, Karen, of Auburn; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl Damon Jr. and wife, Marian, Donald Damon, Judith Lawler and husband, Arthur, Dorothy Andrews and husband, Phillip, Patricia Stone, and Linda Moore and husband, Albert; and a son-in-law Gerald Lowe of South Paris.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Theresa Lowe; grandchildren, Brawn Ryan Paradise and Danielle Lee Damon; brothers, Glen Johnson and Donald Cory; brothers-in-law, Lucien and Romeo Chabot, Edwin Piirainan; sisters-in-law, Joyce Andrews, Louise Damon, June Chabot and Rita Piirainan; her parents, Zetta and Kenneth Johnson; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl Damon Sr., Fabiola Damon Moore and Leo Moore.
