NEWPORT, N.H. (AP) – A Charlestown, N.H., woman was convicted Friday on charges stemming from a crash that killed two Claremont teenagers in 2005.
A Sullivan County Superior Court jury in Newport convicted 61-year-old Marilyn Demond-Surace of vehicular assault. She could face two years in prison for causing the deaths of 19-year-olds Justin Aiken and his passenger, Robin Flaig.
Prosecutors say Demond-Surace struck their motorcycle while making an illegal turn in her SUV.
More serious negligent homicide charges were thrown out earlier because of an error by the police.
