LEWISTON – A surprise party was held recently for Pete and Constance Lavoie of Lewiston on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.

The event was planned by their children and they were assisted by Lois Duravage of Connecticut and Pauline Wilder of Monmouth.

The couple went to Aruba for 10 days to celebrate their anniversary.

Mr. Lavoie and the former Constance Brillant were married May 24, 1958, at St. Mary’s Church in Lewiston. Their children are daughter, Linda Lavoie, and sons, Al Lavoie and wife, Rita, Don Lavoie and wife, Nancy, and Ray Lavoie and wife, Lisa. Their grandchildren are Alex and Marie Whitaker, Chantel and Nathan Lavoie and Ryan Lavoie.

Mr. Lavoie is retired from the Lewiston Fire Department.

Mrs. Lavoie is retired from Bates College Maintenance Department.

Original wedding attendants present were Gerry Bosse, usher, and Connie Pacquette, bridesmaid.
