AUBURN – Edith L. Ames, 82, of Lewiston and formerly of Portland, died peacefully early Friday morning, Nov. 21, at the Hospice House in Auburn.
Edith was born in Portland on Feb. 24, 1926, the daughter of Thomas and Velma M. (White) Clish. She was a graduate of Falmouth High School and the Maine Practical School of Nursing. She was an LPN for 20 years.
Edith was a member of the Embroiders Guild of America as well as the Foreside Country Club. She was also a communicant of St. Michael’s Church in Auburn.
Survivors include her husband, Walter K. Ames, whom she married in 1944, of Lewiston; two daughters, Leslie Brunetti and husband, Ronald, of Lewiston, and Cathy Colello and husband, Donald, of Henderson, Nev.; one sister, Lois Rehbein and husband, Robert, of St. Louis, Mo.; and two grandchildren, grandson Paul and grandaughter Velma Brunetti, both of Lewiston.
