PERU – The wedding of Katie Lee Manzer and Patrick Ryan Houghton was held at 4 p.m. on Sept. 27 at the home of the parents of the bride in Peru. Terri Cox, notary public, officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Houghton is the daughter of Arthur and Cynthia Manzer Jr. of Peru. Mr. Houghton is the son of Peter and Judith Houghton Sr. of Carthage.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white strapless A-line gown with beads and she carried a bouquet of fall flowers. The flowers carried by the bridesmaids were made by the bride.

The best friend of the bride, Katie Jean Dolloff, was maid honor. Bridesmaids were Heather and Tessa Manzer, sisters of the bride, and Jen Williams, Serena Knapp and Amanda Blood, best friends. Mariah Merchant, niece of the bride, and Ellah Houghton, niece of the bridegroom, were flower girls.

Tony Houghton served as best man for his brother. Groomsmen were Dan Brown, best friend and cousin of the bride, Arthur Manzer III, brother of the bride, and Josh Gross, Brian Pingree and Joe Flagg, best friends. Ring bearers were Dominick Finnan, Brody Finnan and Wyatt Merchant, nephews of the bride, and Julian Clements, nephew of the bridegroom.

A reception followed at the Eagles Hall in Rumford, after which the couple traveled along the coast of Maine and New Hampshire. They are residing in Peru.

The bride is a 2001 graduate of Dirigo High School and a 2004 graduate of Central Maine Community College. She is employed at Dixfield Discount Fuel in Dixfield.

The bridegroom is a 2001 graduate of Dirigo High School and is a graduate of Central Maine Community College. He is employed at NewPage Corp. in Rumford.
