JAY – Richard W. Knapp, 65, died early Saturday morning, Nov. 22, following a long illness at the home of his son and daughter-in-law on Plaisted Road in Jay.

He was born in Livermore on Aug. 13, 1943, the son of Warren C. and Frances “Frankie” (Casentino) Knapp. He was a 1962 graduate of Livermore Falls High School.

Richard worked as an EMT for the ambulance service in Livermore Falls and International Paper Co. in the pulp mill, leaving due to illness.

He enjoyed baseball and was an assistant coach for A.Y.S. Baseball.

He is survived by two sons, Richard “Sport” Knapp and his wife, Sarah, of Jay; and Hector Knapp of Livermore Falls; a sister, Linda Dearborn of Greene; and three grandchildren, Levi, Brandi and Tayla Knapp.
