Lewiston – Alice B. Thibeault, 77, of Lewiston, passed as a result of an automobile accident on Friday, Nov. 21, at Central Maine Medical Center.
She was born in Bingham, May 9, 1931, a daughter of James M. and Altena Whittemore Cahill. Alice graduated from Bingham High School and Skowhegan Commercial School.
On March 31, 1950, she married Alban J. Thibeault Sr. in Milford, Conn., who predeceased her in 1979.
She worked as a bookeeper for S.D. Warren in Bingham and worked as the town clerk in Moscow and Jackman. She was also employed by the department of transportation in Dixfield. She worked in office and management positions for the Lee Auto dealerships for many years. She retired from Yarmouth Auto service center and worked part time for National Pool and Spa and then Chrislynn Thread Inserts in New Gloucester. Throughout her working life she served as a Mary Kay consultant, a realtor and a Reliv distributor.
She was an avid snowmobiler and belonged to many different snowmobile clubs. She belonged to the Countryside Dancers, a line dancing group. She was a member of numerous chapters of the Maine State Grange and most recently the Minot Center Grange. She was recently elected president of the Central Maine Investors of Augusta. Researching geneology was a huge part of her adult life and she traced her family back to the pilgrims.
She is survived by a son, A. Joseph Tibeault Jr. and his companion, Sandra Smith, of Mechanic Falls; two daughters, Victoria J. Thibeault of Lewiston and Julie A. Ames and husband, Ronald, of Poland; a grandson, Matthew J. Thibeault of Poland; two great-granddaughters, Haley Levasseur of New Gloucester and Lily Thibeault of Norway, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by two sisters, Frances Greenlaw and husband, Ray, of Heppner, Ore., and Nancy Bell of South Paris; a brother, Douglas O. Cahill and wife, Donna, of North Anson; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Beside her husband; Alice was predeceased by her parents; a brother, James A. Cahill; a daughter-in-law, Lauralee Thibeault; a brother-in-law, James (Red) Bell; and a long-term companion, Robert Seavey.
