YARMOUTH – Legendary Maine artist Dahlov Ipcar will make four public appearances this holiday season to celebrate the reissue of her classic children’s book “My Wonderful Christmas Tree.”

The redesigned hardcover edition of Ipcar’s holiday classic will be officially released by Islandport Press on Friday, Nov. 28. The book depicts, with signature Ipcar style, the colorful and curious creatures that live in the New England forest at Christmastime. From the one shining star that graces the top of the living outdoor Christmas tree to the black bears, snowy owls, happy chipmunks and other woodland inhabitants that visit the tree, the book is an inspired celebration of nature and the holiday season.

It follows the rerelease of “The Little Fisherman” earlier this spring, a long-lost title originally issued in 1941. It was illustrated by Ipcar and written by famed children’s author Margaret Wise Brown.

Dahlov’s scheduled appearances are as follows:

L.L. Bean retail store, Freeport, 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday Nov. 29

Mid Coast Hospital, Brunswick, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5

Borders Books & Music, Brunswick, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7

Portland Museum of Art, Portland, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14
