PORTLAND (AP) – An admitted con artist who fleeced six Mainers out of $205,000 has been sentenced to four years in prison.

Jonathan Rosenbloom, who pleaded guilty in July, was sentenced Tuesday in Cumberland County Superior Court.

The 50-year-old chef and wine expert admitted to luring investors into phony Italian real estate deals. In another scheme, he posed as a successful day trader and used the personal information of his marks to obtain credit cards and spend the available money.

Justice Thomas Warren said a harsh sentence was warranted because of Rosenbloom’s prior conviction for a similar scheme in New York, the impact of the crimes on his victims and the high likelihood that he might reoffend.

Rosenbloom is a nephew of the late Carroll Rosenbloom, former owner of the NFL’s Baltimore Colts and Los Angeles Rams.
