PORTLAND – Gloria J. Davis, 67, of Bridgton Road, Westbrook, died suddenly after a long illness Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Mercy Hospital.

She was born in Lewiston, on Sept. 1, 1941, the daughter of the late Norton L. Sr. and Emma (Paquette) Davis. She was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of 1959. She then entered the U.S. Army, where she was medically discharged four years later.

She then furthered her education, receiving her bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Maine. She taught at USM for 17 years, teaching self concepts and the disabled. She was an avid computer enthusiast and enjoyed Labrador retrievers, cats, butterflies and all the children that touched her life.

She is survived by two beloved sisters, Barbara and her husband, Hoy Richards, of Sabattus and Cindy and her husband, Michael Cote, and son, Brannon, of Mechanic Falls; six brothers, Norton Jr. and his wife, Janice Davis, of Auburn, Frederick and his wife, Marilyn Davis, of Turner, James and his wife, Jill Davis, of Minot, Scott and his wife, Angela Davis, of Mechanic Falls, Sheldon Walten of Auburn and John Lee of Portland; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and many very close friends.

She was predeceased by her brother, Richard A. Davis in 1945.
