LEWISTON – For the 12th straight year, the Vineyard Church of Lewiston will welcome families to a popular Christmas event. This year’s production, once again in association with King’s Bridge Theatre, is “Nativity Live! 2008,” a reworking of the church’s original live Nativity that had its premiere during last year’s holiday season.

Actors, musicians, dancers and technicians, assisted by more than 250 volunteers, will bring this updated retelling of the ancient Christmas story to the Vineyard Auditorium stage free of charge as a gift to the community.

Filled with musical arrangements, dance and comedy, this year’s event will feature professionally designed costumes, new musical numbers, complimentary cookies and cider, Dickens carolers, an exhibit containing items from the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., horse-drawn wagon rides and live animals tended by Bethlehem shepherds.

Extra performances have been added this year. Showtimes are 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 11, 12 and 13; and 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13.

The Vineyard Auditorium is at 12 Foss Road. Doors will open a half-hour before showtime. For more information, call 784-9500 or visit www.vineyardlewiston.org.
