LISBON FALLS – Philip and Bernice (Bunny) Berry of Lisbon celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary recently with their family at Graziano’s Restaurant in Lisbon. Also celebrated at the same time was Mrs. Berry’s 80th birthday. The party was given by their two daughters.
Mr. Berry and the former Bernice Karkos were married Oct. 23, 1948, at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Lisbon Falls. They have two daughters and their spouses, Stephanie and Richard Plummer, and Sherry and Charles Gurney. They also have four grandchildren, Aaron Plummer and girlfriend, Amanda, and son, Kane, Nichole Plummer, Molly and Jeffrey Robitaille and Christian and Sarah Gurney. They also have a great-grandson, Gavin Robitaille.
Mr. Berry retired from Pejepscot Paper Co. in 1990 after 33 years of service. He also was a part-time insurance agent for Concord General Mutual for 18 years. He has been a member of the Slovak Catholic Association and the American Legion in Lisbon Falls for many years.
Mrs. Berry was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker, always making her family her number one priority. They have resided in Lisbon Falls all their married lives.
Earlier this summer the couple renewed their wedding vows, with other couples, at a special anniversary Mass at Holy Trinity Church in Lisbon Falls, where they are parishioners. They were the couple married the longest, 60 years.
They enjoy being with their family often and have taken a summer vacation with all of them at Bear Pond in Turner every year for more than 33 years. It has been a time together they they have valued the most and have created treasured memories.
