Do Sun Journal editors plan on having high school football teams propel Maine into the future our children and grandchildren deserve and need?

Math and science, as well as other basic courses, are what should make headlines in the newspaper. What a farce to see the headline in the sports section on Nov. 22, in 1.5-inch-high letters, “Date with Destiny!”

I am disgusted with your priorities. Our scholars go completely unrecognized while our football teams are emblazoned 75 percent across and down the front pages. I think the newspaper has it exactly in inverse proportion to where the priorities should be. Our math and science people are the ones who will make or break this state culturally and economically. Let’s re-order things a bit here.
