LEWISTON – Phyllis (Moriarty) Hall, 65, formerly of Sabattus, went to be with her Lord on Nov. 28, after spending a wonderful time of Thanksgiving with her family.
She was born in Springfield, Mass., on March 20, 1943, a daughter of John “Moe” and Aurore (Dumont) Moriarty. She was educated in Springfield, Mass., and in 1962, was a member of the first graduating class of East Longmeadow, Mass., High School.
She was married to Robert W. Hall Sr., on Feb. 20, 1966, in St. Michael’s Church, also in East Longmeadow, Mass.
Relocating to Maine with her family in 1970, she worked in department stores, Mammoth Mart, Zayre and Ames for a total of 17 years. She also was a dedicated voting poll attendant for the city of Lewiston.
She was a committed mother to her three children, passionately advocating for educational rights and needs of her son and others with developmental disabilities. For over 30 years, she has enjoyed fellowship with her church family at the First Assembly of God Church in Lewiston. As a member of the hospitality committee, she assisted with the coordination of many church functions. She found much pleasure in knitting, playing card games and beano. For many years she was a committed bowler in a women’s league, and on the team called Morning Glories, but she will be remembered mostly for her unwavering devotion to her beloved baseball team, the Boston Red Sox.
She is survived by her husband of almost 43 years, Bob Hall Sr.; her mother, Aurore (Dumont) Moriarty, of East Longmeadow, Mass. Also survived by her sons, Richard Hall and Robert Hall Jr. and wife Karen; a daughter, Thereasa (Hall) Pietrowicz; and her four beloved grandchildren, Samantha, Joshua, Jennifer and David, all residing in Sabattus.
