Mark Shelley of Poland and his 13-year-old son Patrick haul out the family Christmas tree at The North Parish Christmas Tree Farm in Turner on Sunday. “We looked at 500 of them and finally grabbed one,” said Mark Shelley. Picking a tree the weekend after Thanksgiving at this particular tree farm is a family tradition, added Shelley. Farm owner Mark Rabon said it takes about seven years for a tree to mature to the size most people prefer – 7 to 8 feet tall.
