In these times of alarming news, massacres, falling economy, etc., it is always comforting to read the series “Stories on giving,” placed rightfully so on the front page of the newspaper.
A recent story concerning Jeanne Beliveau, a volunteer for Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, touched my heart. Following the death of my husband at Hospice House a few years ago, I joined their volunteer training program. At first, it was difficult dealing with death and dying, but it became easier and more fulfilling with each patient served. Also, Androscoggin Home Care treats people like family, and is always very grateful for the hours anyone can give.
Kudos to Jeanne for the many hours she volunteers.
