AUBURN – Laurier E. Goulet, 68, of 154 Pierce St., Lewiston, was surrounded by family when he went to be with the Lord, Sunday, Nov. 30, at the Androscoggin Hospice House, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Lewiston, on July 21, 1940, the son of Edouard and Marie (Mathieu) Goulet. Educated in Lewiston schools, Larry, as he was known to many, worked at Pioneer Plastics as a laminator, before he retired.

A lifelong member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, he enjoyed walking, reading, traveling with the local senior group, playing Megabucks, dining out, and spending time with family, friends and his canine companion “Rufus.” Known for his quick wit, he knew how to make people laugh even during his last days.

He is survived by his brother, Robert Goulet of Lewiston; and his daughter, Suzanne Goulet and husband, Jonathan, of Fallbrook, Calif.

He was predeceased by his mother in 1986; and his father in 1945.

He will be sadly missed by family and friends

A heartfelt thank-you is extended to the following for the love and care they provided during his last few months: Germaine Desjardins, Michelle Hawkins, Jeannine Velazquez, Denise Caron, and from AHCH Margaret Quinn and Mary Heath. You are truly God’s special angels. Special thanks to Dr. Roger Austin and his staff from the Hospice House of AHCH.
