LEWISTON – Michael A. Sawyer, 55, of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Nov. 27, at the Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Augusta, on Jan. 28, 1953, a son of Richard and Barbara O’Leary Sawyer.

He graduated from Gardiner High School and the University of Maine nursing program. He was a U.S. Army veteran and had been employed at AMHI until his disablement in the early 1990s.

He is survived by his two daughters, Kaela M. Taylor and her husband, Craig, of Aviano, Italy, and Jessie E. Sawyer of Auburn; seven brothers and sisters, Tom Sawyer of Brunswick, Paul Sawyer of Augusta, Jim Sawyer of Gardiner, Rick Sawyer of Winthrop, Mary Sawyer of Augusta, Sue Wells of Gardiner and Deb Caron of Augusta; a granddaughter, Audrey; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents; and his wife, Dianne Lord Sawyer.
