WILTON – A benefit supper is being organized to help with final expenses for Matteo Hanson, a 17-month-old infant, who died after falling down a flight of stairs Saturday morning.
Friends and family are planning a spaghetti supper to begin at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars on Jewell Street in Jay, said Amanda Marchetti, a friend of the infant’s mother, Brandy Swett.
Funds raised will help with funeral expenses, she said. The funeral is planned for 3 p.m. Friday.
Meanwhile, police continue to investigate the incident and are awaiting results from the medical examiner, said Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland Tuesday.
Matteo Hanson was born June 24, 2007, the son of Duane Hanson and Brandy Swett.
He was pronounced dead at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington after being rushed there.
Swett called 911 about 9 a.m. Saturday to report that the child had fallen down a flight of stairs at their Route 2 apartment, according to police.
