LEWISTON – James K. Gahagan, 76, of Auburn, died Sunday, Nov. 30, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Lewiston, May 6, 1932, the son of John T. and Winifred H. (Kearns) Gahagan. He graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of 1951. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He worked at Murphy Furs and prior to his retirement, he worked for many years at Portland Clutch. His hobbies included ham radio operator, an avid computer enthusiast and a member of VFW Post 1603 Auburn.
He is survived by his wife of Auburn, the former Therese Parent, whom he married in June 1975; two stepsons, David Knowlton and his companion, Betty Girard, of Saco and Thomas Knowlton of Auburn; a stepdaughter, Nancy Keough and her husband, Arthur, of Auburn; one brother, the Rev. William Gahagan of Norris, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Jeanne Grady of Auburn; and seven stepgrandchildren.
He was predeceased by one sister; and one brother.
