FREEPORT – The Maine Rural Water Association will hold its 28th annual Water and Wastewater Technical Conference and Exhibition on Dec. 9 and 10 at the Hilton Garden Inn.
Water and wastewater industry personnel will discuss new environmental regulations, grassroots lobbying efforts, and professional development. Emerging issues include the new federal government rule, pharmaceuticals in the water, asset management and tips for financing during troubled times. Discussion of the expected federal economic stimulus packages will also be held.
The exhibition will showcase products and services from leaders in the industry, officials from USDA Rural Development, EPA, Maine Drinking Water Program, Maine Bond Bank and Efficiency Maine.
The drinking water taste will be held at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, to determine Maine’s best tasting water. The winner will represent Maine in the Great American Taste Test in Washington, D.C., in April.
