AUBURN – Florence A. Bergeron, 81, of 28 Bramblewood Road, Auburn, died Friday, Nov. 28, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice.

She was born in Lewiston, on April 17, 1927, the daughter of Osias and Clara Maheux Beauregard. Raised in Lewiston, she married the love of her life, Henry E. Bergeron, 62 years ago on Aug. 17, 1946. Flo was one of those rare people who approached life and even death joyfully.

Before she became ill, she enjoyed bingo, shopping for clothes, and spending time with her husband. Throughout her life, and even after she got sick, she crafted beautiful things for those she loved from yarn and plastic canvas, leaving us tangible proof of how much we were loved. She enjoyed cards and playing computer games (especially Tri Peaks Solitaire on Pogo). Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Her cheery disposition, sense of humor and how she faced the challenge of new experiences will be missed. After she became ill and knew of the ultimate challenge that she was facing, her deep faith and the way that she continued to provide support to those around her was an inspiration to all she had contact with. As independent as she was, she let others care for her, and she cheerfully took that in stride. We will always be grateful that she allowed those around her to share her final journey.

She is survived by her husband, Henry of Auburn; five daughters, Lorraine Brown of Lewiston, Anita and husband, Ernest Asselin, of West Palm Beach, Fla., Linda and husband, Michael Cyr, of Auburn, Sonia Grondin and partner, Michael Hallett, of Lewiston and Tina Morin and partner, Rick Jones, of Winthrop; a brother, Adrien and wife, Geneva Beauregard, of Lewiston; 11 grandchildren, Lisa Hansen, Harry Williams Jr., Michelle Hinds, Matthew and Mark Mercier, Christopher and Angela Cyr, Kristen and Kari Grondin, and Andrew and Melanie Morin; and several great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by three sisters, Marie Verreault, Jeannette Gielarowski and Mariange Smolinski; one brother, Robert Beauregard; and a granddaughter, Brenda Gould.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Hospice House, her nurse Kathleen, and her home health aide Lise. We would also like to acknowledge her special friend, Sue Tuttle.
