January 4, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

The Tin Mountain Round Up is an annual charitable canned food drive that has become a standard on many Maine ski area calendars of events. Several area resorts kick off the season with the Round Up on their opening weekend, while others feature the event during the ski season. In the past, these Round Ups have collected an estimated 5,000 cans of food. A target goal has been set at 10,000 cans for the 2008-09 Maine ski season. Black Mountain will be holding their first ever Tin Mountain Round Up on Sunday, January 4. Bring three cans of food to the mountain and you can ski or snowboard for only $15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.! All food cans from the Black Mountain event will be donated to local food pantries.
