LEWISTON – Clinton C. Soule Jr., 84, of 57 Jefferson St., Lewiston, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, at his home.
He was born in Lewiston, on July 11, 1924, the son of Clinton C. Soule Sr. and Helen (McCarthy) Soule.
He graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of 1941.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1946. His service took him to the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Panama Canal, South Pacific and Okinawa aboard the USS Chase.
He worked for Northern Utilities for 43 years before retiring in the mid-1980s.
He was a member of the American Legion, where he enjoyed gathering with his fellow veterans on a regular basis.
He married the former Margaret Stearns on July 23, 1949. She died on July 2, 1994.
Clint will be remembered by all his family and friends for his contagious sense of humor and love of sports.
He is survived by his five children, Michael Soule and his wife, Karen, of Bristol, N.H., Patrick Soule and his wife, Ginny, of Hampton, Va., Kathy Beaudoin and her husband, Raymond, of Augusta, Kevin Soule of Norfolk, Va., and Shawn Soule and his wife, Jollene, of Lewiston; seven grandchildren, Stephanie, Katrina, Philip, Tiffany, Brian, Kayla and Delany; and two great-grandchildren, Seamus and Keegan.
Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his sister, Lillian Soule; and his parents.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Tonie for the companionship and support she provided to Clint over the last several years. She put a twinkle back in his eyes and gave him something to look forward to on a daily basis.
