Accepting toys

LEWISTON – Hope Haven Gospel Mission is accepting toys for distribution to needy families on Tuesday, Dec. 23, and Christmas Day. Hope Haven is located at 209 Lincoln St. For more information, call 783-6086.

Club Richelieu

LEWISTON – The local chapter of Club Richelieu International will have a meal and meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Dudley’s Restaurant, Ramada Inn. Mario Gendron will host the annual Chinese auction.

Participants are expected to bring a gift valued at between $5 and $10 for the auction. President Daniel Isabel invites all members to attend.

Grange program

AUBURN – Members of Danville Junction Grange will meet at the hall on Thursday, Dec. 11, for dessert at 6 p.m.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m., and a Christmas program will be presented by the lecturer.

Members are reminded to bring wrapped children’s books, games or toys for the Salvation Army project. All members and guests are welcome.

OES to meet

AUBURN – Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at the Masonic Hall. 1021 Turner St.

The chapter will honor all past appointive grand officers. Members will fill Christmas stockings for Officer Tom Poulin.

The meeting will be preceded by a potluck supper at 6:15.

All Eastern Star members are welcome.

AUBURN – Chapter Martel of Association Canado-Americaine will hold a Christmas meeting at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at Rolandeau’s Restaurant, 775 Washington St. President Cecile Paradis invites all members to attend.

Travelers party

TURNER – Members of Twin City Council 160, United Commercial Travelers of America, will hold a Christmas party at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Chickadee Restaurant. Members are reminded to bring a $10 gift for the gift exchange. Reservations must be made by calling Douglas Larrabee at 345-9533.

DAR program

LISBON FALLS – Regent Sheila Desgrosseilliers has announced that Burnt Meadow Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet Saturday, Dec. 13, at the home of Jayne Bickford.

A potluck dinner will be held at noon, and following the business meeting, the members will exchange gifts and share Christmas traditions and memories.
