LEWISTON – Normand W. Lizotte, 83, died Thursday, Dec. 4, at his home after a period of failing health.
He was born in Lewiston on Nov. 15, 1925, the son of Wilfred G. and Marie Blanche (Poulin) Lizotte.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, and was a Purple Heart recipient after being wounded in the European campaign.
Following the war, he worked in the local shoe industry until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Post 22, in Lewiston.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He also adored his nieces and nephews and enjoyed spending holidays with them.
Survivors include one brother, Albin “Ben” Lizotte and his wife, Marjorie, of Auburn; one nephew, Mark Lizotte; two nieces, Patricia Provost and Lorraine Simeone; as well as many great-nephews and great-nieces.
He was predeceased by one sister, Yvonne Pelletier; two nephews, Thomas Lizotte and Larry Pelletier; as well as one brother-in-law, Gerald Pelletier.
